International Darts Festival 

darts2The Villa Marina once again plays hosts to the International Darts Festival. It attracts some of the top names in the sport as seen at the Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships including a number of World Champions.

The Festival offers players the chance to build up valuable ranking points which can provide the gateway to a place in the World Championships and helps to confirm the Manx event as one of the most popular darts tournaments on the Calendar. Entry is free for all spectators including the finals on Sunday. There will also be live TV coverage on Saturday and Sunday. The event will be available in 19 million homes across the UK and Northern Ireland on Sky Ch468, FreeSat Ch250, Freeview Ch91 and Talk Talk/BT Ch91.





Lisa Ashton

The 2014, 2015 and 2017 British Darts Organisation women’s world champion. Her Nickname is The Lancashire Rose and walk on music is “On a Mission” by Gabriella Cilmi.





Tony O’Shea

Born in Stockport and of Irish descent. His squat figure has resulted in the nickname Silverback. His walk-on music is “Hey Baby” by DJ Ötzi. O’Shea has reached the finals of seven BDO major darts tournaments.




Other competitors include the 2016 & 2017 Men’s World champions Scott Waites and Glen Durrant. Other famous faces include Darryl Fitton, Scott Mitchell, Deta Hedman and Trina Gulliver MBE.

darts1Spectators are welcome for the duration of the festival and the bars will be open 1 hour prior to each comp. Also, don’t forget to come along to the finals on Sunday and get your chance to be on TV in the LIVE televised finals. The event goes live from 2pm, so make sure your seated or in place by 1.30pm. Fancy dress is not only welcome, it’s encouraged! So come on down and soak up the party atmosphere and cheer on the players as they do their ‘walk-on’ to their favourite music.
