Xero Online Accounting

If you chose to access the XERO link on the login page of Pinnacle.im you will be directed to the secure sign in portal of www.xero.com.  This is an external site and is not part of the Pinnacle Book-Keeping Limited website.  You are advised to read the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of the Xero.com website.

Users should only enter, or instruct the importation of, data to the database within a secure environment. This means that the User’s browser must support the encryption security used in connection with the Xero servers. You can identify secure areas by an address that begins with https: and looking for the padlock symbol in your web browser.  For example in Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will see a padlock icon in the security status bar, which is located to the right of the address bar.

Xero hosts data on remote servers in Texas USA. This will mean that your data will be transferred outside the European Economic Area to countries which may not provide the same level of data protection as the UK.  Xero is constantly reviewing and monitoring the legislation regarding hosting data outside of the Euro zone and is compliant to current UK legislation and global hosting law.

Xero  back up your data daily on servers that are physically protected in a secure data centre and electronically protected behind restrictive firewalls that are constantly monitored.    In the unlikely event of a major disaster at the datacentre, Xero have a full disaster recovery plan in place to restore normal services with minimal disruption.

Pinnacle Book-Keeping Limited recommend that you keep your computer browser software up to date and maintain a firewall.  The firewall is a security application that sits between your computer and the internet shielding your PC from unauthorised access. Any PC that you use to access the internet should use a firewall. We recommend that your firewall is set to monitor both incoming and outgoing internet traffic – this ensures that you have control over information that enters and leaves your PC.   You should also install and maintain anti-virus software.  Anti-virus software protects your computer in two ways. Second, it prevents viruses and spyware from infecting your computer and compromising your online security.
